Navigate is a brand new mentoring program for artists who are at all stages of their arts career – looking to move to the next level. Navigate is an inclusive mentorship program for both creatives and self producing artists, focusing on production skills.
There are 14 places – eight are reserved for people with disability and Deaf people.
Artists must produce a show for the 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
If they are a successful Navigate participant, they will receive mentor matching and a guide to mentorship, masterclasses on developing essential production skills, cost of registration, one-on-one producing support producing a Festival event. The masterclasses will be accessible.
Organise Carly Finlay explains, “I know firsthand how hard it is to be a creative and also do all the business-y bits. I am a writer and speaker outside of Fringe, but I still have to do the money stuff, book venues, promote my work and make my events accessible. It’s hard! Maybe you know an artist who is feeling this way too. Sometimes they need some guidance and monetary support to take their arts career further. And Navigate is designed to do that, for artists at all stages of their career.”
Navigate is open for expressions of interest now, and applications close 6 May.
There will be an info session about Navigate in Melbourne and live streamed on the evening of 10 April. Details on Facebook.
