DCA is pleased to confirm that we will be hosting Young Australian of the Year, Drisana Levitzke-Gray for some great events later this month. Drisana is fifth-generation Deaf herself and encourages self empowerment and deaf advocacy. She will be sharing her experiences as a child and a young Deaf person, and having open discussions with children, students and families.
Drisana will be attending two events for young people and families: an ‘It’s OK to be Yourself’ Student Forum to share her experiences on Friday 30 October and a ‘Step By Step’ Fun Family Day on Saturday 31 October, where families can meet Drisana and make new deaf friends. Both events will be held on site at DCA.
