NDIS Rollout Dates Announced

    On 16 September 2015, the bilateral agreements for the roll out of the NDIS in New South Wales and Victoria were signed by governments. Dates for the rollout of the scheme have now been announced by region.
    It is expected that almost 245,000 Australians will ultimately be covered by the NDIS in New South Wales and Victoria.
    Negotiations on bilateral agreements are continuing between the Commonwealth and the other state and territory governments.

    NSW
    The first stage of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in New South Wales began in the Hunter area on 1 July 2013. From 1 July 2015 the NDIS started in the Nepean Blue Mountains area for children and young people under 18 years of age.
    From 1 July 2016 the NDIS will begin to be available across other areas of New South Wales. See the interactive maps for the rollout of the NDIS in Sydney and regional NSW.

    VIC
    The first stage of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Victoria began in the Barwon region on 1 July 2013.
    From 1 July 2016 the NDIS will begin to be available across other areas of Victoria. The NDIS will be made available progressively across the state over the next three years. See the interactive maps for the rollout of the NDIS in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
