DCA’s Autumn School Holiday Program is now in full swing and the kids are having a ball again. So far, we have run an Arts Fun Day and Tree Climbing Adventures.

Jodie Black, whose daughter Elise attended the Arts Fun Day says, “Elise has enjoyed the beanbag movie and the animal farm with DCA’s holiday program in the past too. The activities are always good entertainment and it’s great that she practises her signing with other children. I was always pro-oral when she was younger but since starting at Rosanna Links Primary, she’s been learning to sign. Elise doesn’t sign much at home so it’s brilliant that she does with the other children. The holiday program provides great opportunities.”

At the end of the Arts Fun Day, Elise said, “I liked the clay, painting and playing games. I would like to come again.” Elise certainly looked like she was having fun, leading some of the other girls in cartwheeling around DCA’s lawns.

Farnia and Akeira immediately became great friends

Alicia Somphanpanya said her daughter Akeira has enjoyed the Auslan interpreted shows in the past and wanted to come to the holiday program for the art. Akeira immediately struck up a friendship with Farnia and they were signing songs together and racing around the playground. It’s these opportunities to make new friends that are such an important part of DCA’s Recreation Program.

Keep a look out for the Winter School Holiday Program and other recreation activities coming up!
