Are you a senior high school student or fresh out of high school and not yet entered the workforce? DeafconnectED are hosting their first Transition Week this September for school leavers! Designed to give students the information and confidence to explore their study and work options, deafconnectED’s Transition Week is a week of activities dedicated to finding your confidence in your future, including:
- information sessions about tertiary education (with a presentation by a Disability Liaison Officer and visits to a TAFE and a university)
- information sessions about career pathways (including presentation by Senswide and Sign for Work)
- motivation, social and team building activities
- the opportunity to be matched with a trained deaf mentor at the end of the program
A total of twelve places are available, and DeafconnectED will give priority to current year 12 students. More information on Transition Week will soon be available, including information in Auslan. If you want to be prepared for your future, whether it be further study or working, head to the deafconnectED website and pick up an expression of interest form!
