HALLOWEEN AT DCA

On Saturday, Deaf Children Australia hosted a spectacular Halloween event and we were very impressed by the brilliant costumes. You can view the photos from the event below – BEWARE some scary clowns and villains are pictured.

We have many people to thank.

Kane from Victorian College for the Deaf (VCD) and the students completing work experience with us, they learned many new skills that helped them make career choices for life after school.

Gayle, Adam, Channelle and Anne gave us a lot of assistance in creating the props with the students, their input helped to expand the student’s imagination beyond their expectations

Khloe and Paula from Creative Promotions who came and did the fairy floss and popcorn, they helped us fundraise for DCA.  Massive thank you to them.

Elizabeth did an amazing job of doing the face painting, and all funds raised from face painting went to DCA.

James and Dylan were great tour guides, telling memorable stories while giving the tours of the haunted basement, just absolutely brilliant and made the tours all the better, also they had the support of the Echo interpreters – Dan and Teale.

Bunnings Port Melbourne for being our major sponsor, giving us resources for the materials to make the haunted basement, without them the Haunted House couldn’t’ have been made.

Tahlia from Melbourne Polytechnic who designed our flyers and coordinated students who are learning Auslan and wanted build up their Auslan skills through community engagement. They volunteered their time to assist in making the event a great success.

Overall, we had over 40 volunteers help us make the day a success, thank you all very much!
