DeafNT recently celebrated a successful series of Auslan Beginners, Levels 1 & 2 courses run by DeafNT Advocacy Coordinator Betty Franklin and Auslan Program Coordinator Vanessa Adzaip.
Vanessa says, “Congratulations to all students and to those who were unable to attend on the night. You have completed your initial learning with our Auslan short-course. I hope you learned everything you have wanted to learn in Auslan Beginners, Level 1 and Level 2 and that you enjoyed our classes.
I want to say thanks so much for being motivated enough and taking the time to learn our Deaf language. It is such a vast topic with so many different ways of conversation and perspectives and the more of these you can expose yourselves to helps to increase your knowledge of this wonderful way to communicate. We appreciate all your efforts and thoughtfulness in taking the time to learn Auslan and making it easier for Deaf people and children by breaking down communication barriers.
Our great thanks goes to Lauren Moss Member for Casuarina in the NT for her continuing support for our Auslan classes.”
