The theme for Australian Volunteer Week 2018 is “Give a little. Change a lot”. To learn more about Volunteer Week and volunteering, visit the Volunteering Australia website. DCA is always seeking volunteers to help out across the organisation in a variety of roles. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please see our Volunteering page, or download an Expression of Interest form and email to jobs@deafchildren.org.au.
This week marks National Volunteer Week, where we recognise the important contributions volunteers make in the community and within organisations. Around one in five Australians aged 15 or older volunteer their time somewhere – there are a lot of people to celebrate! DCA is fortunate to have many passionate volunteers helping us in all areas of the organisation – in maintaining the buildings and grounds, in reception, in administration, in special project work and in helping to deliver our programs and services.

Some of our volunteers joined us for a beautiful Thank You Afternoon Tea yesterday afternoon, where we celebrated the hard work they do and took the time to thank them for the increased capacity they give our organisation. In the last financial year, volunteers contributed almost 7,000 hours to DCA – an incredible amount. We thank our dedicated volunteers, and also say a big thank you to all volunteers doing amazing work around Australia!
